WORLD AT WAR, THE - 30th Anniversary Collection

Silva Screen Records presents music from the landmark television series, THE WORLD AT WAR, composed and conducted by Carl Davis (THE FAR PAVILIONS, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, NAPOLEON). To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of THE WORLD AT WAR, Silva Screen Records has produced a new recording of Carl Davis’ memorable and haunting score, featuring 40 minutes of Carl Davis’ original dramatic score including previously unreleased music.

In addition, to make this release a true musical and audio portrait of World War II, there are speeches from Winston Churchill, Field Marshal Montgomery, Neville Chamberlain, General Eisenhower and songs of the period from Vera Lyn, Arthur Askey, Flanagan And Allen, Noel Coward, Charles Trenet, Lale Anderson, Irving Berlin and The Red Army Choir. This new recording is performed by the City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the composer.

The album contains over 74 minutes of music, digitally recorded and mixed to analogue and includes a 12 page booklet with stunning artwork and stills, featuring liner notes from the composer, the producer of the album and the associate producer of the THE WORLD AT WAR.
