The original motion picture soundtrack to STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, directed by Nicholas Meyer, starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Merritt Butrick, Bibi Besch, Kirstie Alley and Ricardo Montalban as Khan. James Horner was the logical choice to score the franchise's sequel to the classic original television episode "Space Seed" in which Khan and his followers were originally discovered in suspended animation on a derelict spaceship. Horner is an Oscar-winning composer and has written scores for films such as TITANIC, TROY, A BEAUTIFUL MIND, HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG, SNEAKERS, KRULL, THE ROCKETEER, APOLLO 13, BRAVEHEART, SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, GLORY, FIELD OF DREAMS, 48 HRS and many others.
