This is the composer approved imported SILVA SCREEN RECORDS deluxe edition of the original soundtrack to the 1985 fantasy film LEGEND directed by Ridley Scott and starring Tom Cruise (Vanilla Sky and Far and Away), Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's Day Off). This is the original Jerry Goldsmith score that was heard only in the international version of LEGEND, it was replaced in the reedited North American version of the film by progressive Rock Group TANGERINE DREAM who were commissioned to compose a brand new score that would appeal to "The Kids." This original film score has been called one of Goldsmith's landmark efforts featuring a full symphony orchestra,Chorus and a battery of synthesizers that ranks with his scores to PLANET OF THE APES, PATTON, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE and THE OMEN TRILOGY. This CD contains 14 tracks totaling 70 minutes of music from the original soundtrack recording performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of London.
