Although
widely regarded as The House of Horror through out its existance,
Hammer Films actually had an extremely diverse output beyond that
genre. They made a number of crime & psychological thrillers,
war movies, costume dramas and comedies. And it is music from
the latter that this collection covers.
Hammer made over twenty comedy pictures during its lifetime, the
most famous of which are the TV spin-offs from the early 1970's.
Although the likes of 'On the Buses', 'Love Thy Neighbour' and
'Man about the House' are now seen as politically incorrect they
were big business at the time and proved to be extremely profitable
for Hammer.
This CD collects together music from twelve films, all but three
being 70's TV spin-offs, and features the work of well-known TV
composers such as Ron Grainer, Albert Elms and Denis King.
