The first official CD release of the complete music score composed by John Scott (Greystoke, Anthony and Cleopatra) for the 1980 science fiction/Time Travel adventure THE FINAL COUNTDOWN directed by Don Taylor (Damien-Omen 2) and starring Kirk Douglas (Spartacus) , Martin Sheen (The West Wing),Charles Durnin (The Fury) and Katharine Ross (The Stepford Wives).
The film's plot concerns The USS Nimitz, An American nuclear aircraft carrier being caught in a classic dilemma when a supernatural storm sends them back in time just before the Japanese assault on Pearl Harbor.
The rousing score by John Scott is performed by a full symphony orchestra consisting of the finest London studio musicians. This new disc contains 23 tracks totaling 53 minutes of music and features a number of tracks that did not appear on ANY previous release of this score.
