Careful, He Might Hear You was the exceptionally well-reviewed Australian film that received seven Australian Film Institute Awards, including best film of 1983. The film starred Wendy Hughes, Robyn Nevin, Nicholas Gledhill and John Hargreaves in a Depression era story of how one child's love and courage triumphs over his family's painful past.
As acclaimed as the film was, the ravishingly beautiful score proved to be, perhaps, its most stand out attribute. After hearing how good Cook’s score is, it is impossible not to mourn for the “what might have been.”
It is important to take note of a film score this good, even if the composer may not, otherwise, be remembered. Whether you know the film, or know the score, or have never heard of either … this is a very special release.
