An epic adventure that explodes at the edge of the world! Prometheus Records presents the original motion picture soundtrack to CABOBLANCO, the 1980 action drama directed by J. Lee Thompson, starring Charles Bronson, Dominique Sanda, Jason Robards, Fernando Rey and Simon MacCorkindale, with music composed and conducted by the great Jerry Goldsmith. The story, taking place in Peru in the 1940’s, is essentially a rehash of CASABLANCA, with Bronson playing the Humphrey Bogart role and Dominique Sanda in the Ingrid Bergman role. Goldsmith’s score has an appropriate Spanish flavor and also includes some great action writing, in addition to interpolating THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU, composed by Roy Noble and a song featuring the lyrics and vocals of his wife, Carol. This was the first collaboration between director J. Lee Thompson and Goldsmith. They would later work together again on KING SOLOMON’S MINES. Released once before on compact disc, CABOBLANCO has been out of print for some time and difficult to find. This new reissue has the same contents as the previous release but the music has been remastered for improved sound and new artwork has been produced.
